This - "What if I am powerless to fight back? Too debilitated to put my body on the line to protect my loved ones? Too immobilized to contribute to food security, or disaster recovery, or community defense?" I think about this obsessively. I know it's a trauma response - the need to fight, flee, defend, feed & house - and to not be the one on the receiving end. But I also know it's a very realistic response to continual threat in a dangerous society.
